Empress of Blandings is an independent theatre company based in Edmonton, Alberta. We premiered at the 2016 Edmonton International Fringe Festival with an original adaptation of Molière’s The Flying Doctor, to rave reviews and sold-out houses. Under the leadership of founder and artistic director Celia Taylor and technical director Tegan Siganski, we've been fortunate enough to mount a string of successful shows since then. Right now, we're producing a noir mystery podcast, Hardboiled.

At Empress of Blandings, our mission is to rediscover and revive old or forgotten works and bring them to life for new audiences, in fresh and unexpected ways. We are committed to diversity and inclusivity, and in the creation of juxtapositions that let audiences see classic works through new eyes.
